By submitting an application, you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions set forth by our organization. It is important to understand that adherence to these terms is mandatory. Failure to comply with any of the stipulated conditions will result in enforcement of our cancellation policy.
Identity Verification
To manage our insurance risk and prevent fraud, we may verify the personal details you provide. This process may involve a soft search of your credit file. Soft searches do not affect your credit score or how lenders view you.

If applying on behalf of a company, you must provide company identification in the required format. Switch will conduct a credit check as part of the verification process.
Identification Required
For Switch to process an application for a MySwitch vehicle the following identification is required:
- Driving Licence: Clear pictures of both the front and back
- DVLA Check Code: Obtain from www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
- Most Recent Payslip*
- Most Recent Bank Statement: Ensure it shows the salary payment listed on your payslip.
*Self-employed applicants will need to provide evidence from HMRC or an accountant
Important notice: Vehicle Repairs, Servicing & ManagementVehicle Repairs: I accept that the amount invoiced to me for any repairs may be lower than the vehicle manufacturer's suggested retail price but higher than your cost as the amount invoiced to me will not reflect rebates which you may subsequently receive from the vehicle repair shop of supplier based on your volumes of purchases and long term relationships, and may not include any economies of scale where damage caused by different customers are repaired simultaneously. Please note that unauthorised mechanical and cosmetic work or repairs carried out on our vehicle without the consent of Switch will result in rental termination and the customer will be responsible for any associated charges forthcoming.
Vehicle Management: Vehicle tampering and/or mileage manipulation will result in immediate rental termination, and you will be responsible for any subsequent associated charges up to the full cost of the vehicle.
Reports of negligent driving or vehicle abuse will result in immediate rental termination, and you will be responsible for any subsequent associated charges up to the full cost of the vehicle.
Vehicle Servicing: Customers are responsible for ensuring that vehicle attends scheduled servicing as required by the vehicle manufacturer and will be arranged by Switch. This may include running-in servicing on high-performance cars. In all cases customer is responsible for communicating vehicle mileage *see terms relating to customer responsibilities regarding vehicle mileages.
An electronic notification will display to advise a service is due. It is your responsibility to contact your renting location to advise the vehicle requires servicing. If a service is missed during your rental a penalty charge will be applied, please see below.

*Please check with the MySwitch team for more informationPriceThe quoted price is valid for a maximum rental period of six months. After this period, the applicable advertised rate at that time will apply.Excess mileage charges will be incurred at the prevailing rate for any mileage exceeding the selected allowance of 1,000 or 2,000 miles per month, as determined at the start of the rental.
Payment Terms- Payment is required by credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or debit card (Cash, cheque and pre-paid credit cards are not accepted)
- Payment must be made on the due date. If funds are not available when payment is requested an email will be sent advising of this. If payment is not made on the date payment is due, a late payment charge of £25 + VAT per day, this will be added daily to the amount due
- Failure to make payment within 3 days of the payment being due may lead to Switch terminating the hire and requesting the immediate return of the vehicle.
- Persistent failure to make payment on the date due (i.e. for more than 1 month) may lead to Switch terminating the hire and requesting the immediate return of the vehicle. It may also restrict the make and model of vehicle that is available to be hired.
- In the event that the vehicle is returned earlier than the date originally agreed, no refund will be made.
Insurance Customers Own Insurance - Vehicles must be always covered by a fully comprehensive insurance policy during the hire and insurance details must be notified and accepted by Switch Car Rental prior to hire.
- The excess on the insurance policy must not exceed £1000
- The insurance policy must have a minimum annual mileage of at least 10,000 miles
- Any additional drivers covered on the insurance policy must be notified to Switch before the start of the hire and copies of their licences provided to Switch so that standard rental checks can be carried out
- The insurer must be notified of the MySwitch requirement, as the registered keeper of the vehicle, to validate the policy details with them.
- The hirer may not change insurers, or change any terms of the insurance, including excess level or additional driver cover without notifying MySwitch.
MySwitch Insurance - Collision Damage Waiver
- Collision Damage, Waiver coverage is available subject to approval
- The driver must be between 25 - 70 years old
- An excess of £1250 will apply
- To be applicable for CDW you must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of one year
- We cannot offer CDW if you have more than six penalty points on your licence
- Should Switch consider damage to the rental vehicle to be caused by your gross negligence, serious carelessness, or deliberate misuse, then we reserve the right to recharge the full cost of repairs regardless of the cover that has been taken out, e.g. driving the vehicle illegally, fuel contamination or driving through a flood.
Deposit All of the below points apply to rentals with or without insurance included. How your deposit is calculated is outlined also:
- The deposit payment must be made by credit or debit card. The renter will call the MySwitch team to make the payment securely over the phone.
- Should the excess on your policy exceed the deposit initially requested, Switch reserves the right to request an increase on the deposit to match the customer's liability on the policy.
- If applying as a business, the payment will need to be made on a credit/debit card either in the company name or in a person s name with links to the business. e.g. Director
- In the event that the hirer does not collect the vehicle within 24 hours of the agreed time, the deposit will be returned subject to the deduction of one month's rental charges.
Customers Own Insurance
For customers providing their own insurance coverage- A deposit of £750 or a sum equivalent to one month's rental charge including VAT
(whichever is the greater amount) will be taken in advance of the pickup date via a call to the MySwitch team. This will be refunded within 10 working days after the end of the rental when vehicle is returned
providing the vehicle is returned full of fuel and undamaged and there are no outstanding amounts against the rental.
MySwitch Insurance - Collision Damage Waiver
For Customers opting for MySwitch Insurance coverage (Collision, Damage Waiver) a deposit of £1250 or a sum equivalent to one month's rental charge including VAT
(whichever is the greater amount) will be due prior to rental start date.
Fines & Penalty PaymentsIf Switch is notified of any fine or penalty relating to the use of the vehicle during the period of hire, details of the hirer will be provided to the enforcing authority for the purpose of transferring the liability for the fine or penalty. An administration fee (currently £42) will be charged to the credit or debit card held. In the event that funds are not available for this charge, it will be added to the rental contract and taken by agreed payment method along with the rental charge. By agreeing with our terms & conditions the hirer is agreeing to this charge being made by Switch. Switch reserves the right to terminate any hire if the accrual of penalty notices is deemed excessive.
Overseas Use To take your subscription car abroad Switch will charge you a one-off admin fee of £35.00 & we ask that you provide us with a minimum of two weeks' notice. Additionally, you must make sure; the insurance includes foreign comprehensive cover, you have the required VE103B documentation from us and you have our written permission.
To allow us to process your request to take your vehicle abroad we ask that you send the following information in your request to

You are allowed to enter and/or transit the vehicle to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, San Marino Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain (excluding Ceuta & Melilla) Sweden & Switzerland. If you wish to travel to a country not listed, please contact our MySwitch Team in advance.
MileageEach month your renting branch will contact you for an up-to-date mileage, it is important that you provide this accurately to allow us to monitor the life-span, service intervals and your usage of the vehicle.
- Monthly mileage may not exceed the amount agreed in the application.
- In the event that excess mileage is covered, the charge indicated in the application will apply.
- Failure to provide mileage updates may lead to the termination of the hire agreement.
- Switch reserves the right to terminate a hire if the monthly mileage covered is considerably in excess of the agreement made.
- Excessive mileage accrual may trigger a defleet changeover.
Maintenance and breakdownRates include routine maintenance and roadside assistance cover. Items excluded (and therefore will be charged to the hirer) include but are not limited to:
- Windscreen chip or windscreen damage requiring replacement
- Any tyre damage that includes punctures or wear that is not considered standard
- Damage induced by using the wrong fuel
- Damage induced by lack of oil, water, Adblue or other consumables
- Breakdown call-out fees for customer-induced faults (e.g. flat battery, keys locked in vehicle)
- Missed services, including M Services and costs associated with this.
It is the hirer's responsibility to ensure the vehicle is kept in a legal and road-worthy condition during the life of their rental. In the event of an Accident or Incident please call b>Switch Assist on

*Please note: You must let us know as soon as you become aware of any defect with the vehicle, or if the vehicle is stolen or involved in an accident or broken down. Failure to notify may result in you breaking this agreement and liable to paying costs we incur
Fuel PolicyAll vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel at the start of the hire.
The hirer may return the vehicle full at the end of the rental or return the vehicle part full and be charged for missing fuel at the end of the rental at the locally determined price this also applied at time of vehicle changeover.
Electric vehicles (EV) will be supplied charged and you may return the vehicle with a full charge or partially charged and pay the difference.
Cancellation & no-show PolicyIf the reservation is cancelled less than 7 days before the rental start date the hirer will be liable for one month's hire charges.If the vehicle is not collected within 24 hours of the agreed start time ('no show') the hirer will be liable for one month's hire charges.Rental Period & TerminationsThe initial hire period is agreed upon at the start of the rental. In the event that the hire terminates before the anticipated end date, an adjustment to the rental rate (reverting to the rate applicable to the length of hire) will be made prior to any refund of the deposit.
If the hire terminates during the first month of hire the full 1-month rental rate will be held by Switch.
Switch reserves the right to terminate the rental if monthly rental payments are not made on the due date or any other terms of rental are breached.
In the event that the rental is terminated by Switch, the vehicle must be returned to a Switch depot immediately. The hirer will remain liable for rental charges (calculated on a daily basis) up to and including the day the vehicle is returned to a Switch depot.
We require a minimum of 4 weeks' notice to off-hire your vehicle and end your agreement and this must be done by contacting the MySwitch team on 01392 203041 or sending an email to
flexisales@switchcarrental.co.uk.
Failure to provide a notice period may result in a deduction from your deposit equal to one month's rental rate and a delayed return of your deposit.
When you return the vehicle at the end of the hire period, the total additional charges, including any charges for fuel, damage, etc will be calculated and any overpayment will be credited to your card(s).
Vehicle ChangeoversYou will have the vehicle for the rental period shown in your Reservation Confirmation. Switch will contact the hirer, giving at least 48 hours notice, when the vehicle has been sold and is due to be returned. This will not usually be until the hirer has had the vehicle for at least 3 months. If you do not bring the vehicle back on time, or if you do not contact us and get our agreement to an extension of your rental, you are breaking the conditions of this agreement. We can charge you for every day or part-day you have the vehicle after you should have returned it to us. Until we get the vehicle back, we will charge you the daily rate specified on the rental agreement when you collect the vehicle. Switch reserves the right to changeover any vehicle with reasonable notice of doing so (in most cases this would be 5 days).
Reasons for such a change include but are not limited to:
- The vehicle is incurring high mileage.
- The vehicle is due for a service.
- The vehicle is due to be de-fleeted.
Vehicles must be refilled prior to change over or be subject to Switch's refuelling charges. Delayed vehicle exchanges will be subject to a late return fee of £25.00 per day.
Rental Agreement You will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement when you collect your hire vehicle.
Complaints ProcedureComplaints should be made in writing to:
Receipt of a complaint will be acknowledged within 1 working day. The Complaint will then be investigated by the Customer Service team and where possible a decision reached. Further information may be required to enable the decision-making process. A decision will be communicated to you within 5 working days.
If no resolution can be reached you are entitled to contact the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association - approved by Government as a

By entering into this rental agreement you agree that we can process and store your personal information in connection with this agreement including data collected from the vehicle. We may use your information to analyse statistics, for market research, credit control and to protect our assets.
You agree that if you break the terms of this agreement we can pass your personal information to credit-reference agencies, debt collectors, the police or any other relevant organisation. We can also give this information to the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA), which can share your personal information with its members to prevent crime and protect their assets, as allowed under the Data Protection Act 1998.
By accepting these Terms & Conditions you consent to Switch applying charges to your credit or debit card account. If you do not adhere to the Terms & Conditions outlined above the Cancellation Policy will be enforced.
